Alright, I admit that China Green was not our first choice: we wanted to try Dim Sum Palace in Hell's Kitchen as we keep seeing a large crowd each time we passed in front of it. I was surprised how big the place was, with its dining room in the back. It was not as crowded as the other place, but still, we decided to give it a try.
They have a fairly large menu and we saw people ordering some casseroles that smelled delicious, coming sizzling at their table. But we were there for dim sum, and there too, they have a large selection. Here is what we tried:
Scallion pancakes: slightly greasy as you would expect for this dish, it was also delightfully crispy.
Vegetable roll: also nice and crispy, with a tasty filling.
Pork soup dumplings: they were ok. The shell was sticky and I thought they did not have enough soup in it, missing also some of the fattiness I love in the other soup dumplings I have tried.
Crystal shrimp dumplings: delicious, I definitely recommend them.
The food at China Green was ok. I think places like Kung Fu Kitchen that is few blocks away is much better.
Enjoy (...)!
