When Touch The Heart closed, I was wondering what would replace it and then learned that a vegan burger place, Jerrell’s Betr Brgr was coming. Opening a vegan burger joint just next to Mighty Quinn’s BBQ and few blocks from Shake Shack is a pretty bold move to say the least. So we had to try it. As we entered, we could not not notice the bright and fun decor of the place.

The menu is small and consist of a variation on an Impossible burger: the Lil’Betr Brgr with a single patty, the O.G. Betr Brgr with a double patty and the Super Betr Brgr with two patties, "bacon", vegan chili and all the toppings they put in the burger: vegan cheese, lettuce & tomato, grilled onions, pickles & Jerrell’s special sauce. The Super is definitely decadent with all these toppings and quite filling.

With it, I got a cookies and cream milkshake that was made with oat milk, as well as waffle fries that were served skin on, and were deliciously crispy.

Overall, I thought the food was good, The impossible burger is definitely much better than its competitor, the Beyond Burger., but for me, it is not as good as a beef burger. I think however that it is a good alternative for anyone who wants to stop eating meat and craves a burger. So it is worth trying.
