I was really looking forward to trying the new location on broadway of Wolfgang Steakhouse, but, our dinner did not go as expected. It started well though. Entering the place, I saw some bottles of whisky against the wall, not knowing at that point that they have a very large selection of this delicious liquor, my choice that day being a glass of Kentucky Owl Confiscated.
The crab cake was quite good, and so was the tomato and mozzarella that Jodi got as her main, two classic appetizers.
What was a bit disappointing was the steak. I went for a ribeye, ordered medium-rare, but I had to send it twice. The first time, it came well done and the second time rare. The third time was perfect, the steak being tender and juicy with a nice char. But the wait screwed up a bit the meal as the Jodi got the tomato and mozzarella but waited probably 20 minutes for my steak, a long wait even if that dish would not get cold. That was not the case for the onion rings that I ate with a thick slice of bacon while waiting.
The manager was really apologetic and offered us the dessert, the chocolate mousse cake that was superb, very chocolatey.
I admit that, although the food was good, the meal was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, I would give them another shot.
Enjoy (I still did)!
